Global Vision, Local Focus
Linklaters is one of the world’s leading law firms. At Linklaters, we've adopted a can-do approach to delivering outstanding results for some of the world's largest financial institutions and corporations - however complex and demanding the legal projects. Through this we've gained a breadth and depth of expertise in major banking, M&A deals, privatisations, IPOs, energy and infrastructure project financings, restructuring, and debt and equity capital markets.
This position is designed to do just that: expose you to real work, challenge you with real responsibility, and put you in touch with our people. We can offer you such an exciting opportunity because of the depth and breadth of our business. Join us for a few months and discover what working here is really all about.
Your principal will mentor you throughout and, as the first point of contact, will be there to answer your questions and allocate work. From the start, you'll be treated like a member of the team and given real work. This will mainly include doing legal research, preparing hot topic reports, preparing knowhow summaries, advice indexes and transaction bibles and correspondence. Seminars and lectures will broaden your knowledge of particular practice areas and of our business as a whole; while social events are an opportunity to meet and chat with other members of the firm.
We look for top-class people simply because we always strive for excellence in everything we do. So to join us, you'll need the imagination to find innovative solutions, the energy to put them into practice and the resilience and commitment to see them through. Your sense of team spirit will have a crucial role to play, as will your confidence in your technical ability, your client-focused approach and integrity. You will also need to be able to think commercially.
You'll need a strong academic record and a top-tier degree. Excellent written and spoken English is an advantage. In particular, you need to be an individual, not a stereotype - someone who's interesting, fun to be around and not afraid to question the status quo in commercial and legal situations. Finally, you must demonstrate a commitment to a career in law with us.
We are looking for students who are in their 3rd or 4th years of LLB study at one of the top universities of Thailand and can work for two whole months between 1 June and 31 July 2016.
