Diede van Kasteren – Trainee Retail Banking:
'Me? Work for a bank? Never!' That’s what I always said as a student of International Business and Management (plus a masters in Finance & Investments). We were regularly taught about Wholesale banking, but I’d never heard of retail banking. When I eventually learned about it by word of mouth it was an area of banking that sparked my interest immediately. Suddenly, a traineeship in retail banking didn’t seem such an odd choice after all.
The atmosphere within ING really appeals to me and always has done, right from the start. Wherever you are in the organisation, you sense the urge to move forward. The people here want things to be different than at the ‘old bank’. Nothing beats being able to work with that level of energy.’
If you’re a university graduate, this is the ideal time to join ING. We’re currently seeking talented individuals with a fresh perspective on banking and the drive to help our customers shape their own financial futures. Such as Diede, who as a Retail Banking trainee contributed to the Dutch TV programme ‘Hoeveel ben je waard?’ (‘How much are you worth?’).
On the 3-year ING International Talent Programme you can forge your own career within Retail Banking, Wholesale Banking, Risk, IT or Finance. You’ll learn about your chosen specialist area, the financial services sector in general, and a huge amount about yourself.
Are you keen to have an impact on the bank of the future? If so, explore your possibilities at www.ING.nl/traineeship or apply directly for the Retail Banking traineeship: https://www.ing.jobs/Netherlands/Vacancies/Vacancy/Traineeship-Retail-Banking-October-2016.htm
